Salt Lake City revitalizes donner trail park with new features
By Local Salt Lake City news desk
Salt Lake City has completed the revitalization of Donner Trail Park, which now features new playgrounds, water-wise landscaping, and a walking pathway.
The park also includes a Memorial Tree Grove with 83 trees, representing 17 species, where community members can honor loved ones or events.
Residents can reserve a tree for a $380 donation, with online reservations starting October 1, 2026, and the first planting scheduled for Spring 2027.
The park features a new public artwork, "Journey Lines" by Adam Kuby, which incorporates 16 stone and steel elements representing journeys connected to the city.
