Salt Lake City announces 2026 Mayor’s Artist Awards recipients
By Local Salt Lake City news desk
The 2026 Mayor’s Artist Awards recipients were recognized during a ceremony and reception on Tuesday, October 13, at Finch Lane Gallery in the Art Barn.
The awardees include Artes de México en Utah, Cheryl Ann Cluff, David Ericson, Russel Albert Daniels, and Laura Allred Hurtado, who have significantly enriched Salt Lake City’s cultural landscape.
“Ninety-five years ago, Salt Lakers broke ground on the Art Barn because they believed art deserved a place in our city, even during the Great Depression,” said Mayor Erin Mendenhall.
The Mayor’s Artist Awards are facilitated by the Salt Lake City Arts Council and honor artists, cultural organizations, and creative leaders who bring joy to the city’s residents.
